EPCOT After Dark

This was our first time attending the EPCOT After Dark Event. This is a separate ticket event that gives a smaller number of visitors access to the park and most popular attractions after hours (10AM - 1AM). We wanted to share some of the HIGHS and LOWS from our experience.

HIGHS!

• You can enter the park well before the event starting at 7PM. This gave us time to grab dinner at one of the restaurants to relax and fuel up for the evening.

• Since it was evening in May, the temperatures were at least 10-15 degrees cooler from the heat of the day (whew!)

• There were plenty of free snacks and beverages available throughout the event. The beverage options included bottles of water, sodas and PowerAid that were grab and go at several stations. The snack options included popcorn, mickey bars, popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches offered at several stations.

• WAIT TIMES WERE CRAZY SHORT during EPCOT After Dark! I’m talking 20-30 minutes for Guardians of the Galaxy, 10-20 minutes for Remy/Frozen. I took a screen capture at 10:45PM...

  
  

  

  
  

  

LOWS?

• EPCOT After Dark is a bit expensive for a 3 hour event, but we felt that it was worth the investment to get to ride some of the most popular rides with very little wait times.

• You will be out late, so plan accordingly! We made the rookie mistake of going to a park for the full day before the event and had an early breakfast scheduled for the next morning. We were exhausted! Next time, we will likely spend the day at the resort to rest-up ahead of the event and plan for a late start the next day.

Recommendation: Highly recommend it! We will be adding EPCOT After Dark to next year's WDW trip…it is not to be missed!

• Plan a light day ahead of the event.

Mom

• Make a late dinner reservation (8:30PM -9PM) at La Hacienda de San Angel and request a table with a window view. Not only will you have an amazing meal… At 9PM, you can get an amazing view of the “Luminous The Symphony of Us” nighttime spectacular….all from the air conditioned and seated view from your table. The restaurant will dim the lights and play the music from the show throughout the restaurant. You can also enjoy a drink or dessert after the show while the crowds start to leave the park before the ticketed event starts.
