2024 December - SPECIAL EDITION - Tween Trip Report - Adventures by Disney - Danube River Cruise: Magical Holidays

Hi Tweens! I am here to tell you about our Adventures by Disney Danube river cruise!!
ºoº First day the day we head to the boat from Munich, Germany! 🇩🇪 ºoº
On the first day, it was so easy to get to the ship. All we did was show up at the hotel with our luggage🧳. They would check us in, then take our luggage, and load it on to the bus. The bus ride was 2 hours but it was worth it. Once we got to the ship, they had us wait in the lounge for a little bit which served as a great time to meet new people. After that they would let us get our key cards with our names on it (so try not to lose it) and we could go to our rooms and unpack. A little later they had a presentation to meet all of the crew that we would be running the excursions and having fun...also know as the adventure guides. Our adventure guides were amazing their names where Jana, Billy, Joshua, Austin and Melanie ❤️. The crew was amazing too. For dinner that night we went to the Chef's Table where you can see the chef cook in a see through room. The food was great 7 courses (many had fish but they can make all of the food with no fish if you want). Then every night we got to have a late-night snack between 10:00pm and 11:00pm. And that concludes the first day on the ship. 😃
ºoº Second day in Passau, Germany 🇩🇪 ºoº
On the next day when we had breakfast (in the normal dining room) there was an omelet station and a buffet line. We were in Passau, Germany! Everyone took a walking tour which was very fun! After, we took a class on how to make a pig 🐖 ( a New Years tradition) out of marzipan. That was really fun! We then went back to the boat to have lunch. We had lunch in the lounge where we an amazing pesto tortellini. Later after lunch, we had 2 options to do in Passau. The options where going to explore on your own or go to the “Aldersbacher Brewery” where you learn and take a tour on how they make beer🍺 . We went on the Brewery tour. Next to the brewery there was a beautiful church I highly recommend going to see it. After the tour, the adults got to try some of the local beer and the kids got lemonade and other soda type drinks that they make. That night they had a presentation about what was going to happen tomorrow. After that the Adventure guides had a dinner with the kids up to 8 grade which was so fun! We got to decorate the Christmas trees🌲 in the lounge and hang out with the adventure guides.

ºoº Third day in Linz and Salzburg, Austria 🇦🇹 ºoº
We started the day off by going to a salt mine. It sounds boring, but it was really fun! There are 3 slides🛝, but they are not normal slides...and much more fun! You also get to take a small boat ride underground which was so cool! I would highly recommend this excursion and on the boat ride try to get seats in the front. After the salt mine, we went to a blue cow restaurant for lunch. It was a buffet and you might get to sit next to another family or two. Later that day, we went on a walking and it was a really fast tour. You got to see Mozart's home and the park from the Sound of Music. After that, we had one hour of free time and my family went to the 🎄Christmas market🎄. That night we went to the dinner on the AmaLea. They have great service!

ºoº Fourth day in Wachau Valley, Austria 🇦🇹 ºoº
In the Wachau Valley, we went on the Melk Abby tour. On that tour, I decided to go on the junior adventurers excursion. It was very informational, but in a fun way! I got to learn so much and we got to see a beautiful Church that had so much GOLD!!!!! They created so many different symbols using the gold. (If you go on the junior adventurers excursion, you get to go somewhere where the adults do not go.) After that we decided to go on the Story of the Danube excursion where we got to learn how to dance, we got juice while the adults got a wine tasting, and we got to try apricot dumplings (yum)! If you volunteer, you can help make apricot jam while everyone else watches you and it is so fun. Everyone get a free jar of apricot jam to take home. That afternoon we switched ports and went to Krems. In Krems, we went on an apricot farm excursion where we got to see how and where they make the apricots in to jams, nectars/juice etc. We also got to try all of that and more. We also got to learn about the family that owns the farm. And if you wanted you could buy some of the stuff that you got to taste. That night was our 🎆 New Years Eve party 🎆 where we got to count down to 2025, dance and get in to groups for trivia. Trivia was super fun there were 5 rounds my team was named “I ate too many apricots!”...haha. We came in 5th place!!! YAY!!

ºoº Fifth day in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹 ºoº
When we were in Vienna, we went to the Schönbrunn Palace and got to see a really cool Marionette show. After, you could test them out yourself! After the Marionette show, I went on the junior adventures tour. We got to dress up, have fun, and go on a scavenger hunt around the museum. After that, we went to an apple strudel class. We watched people make apple strudel and we got to eat it afterwards. It was really good! Then we went to the 🎄Christmas market 🎄 that was just outside of the palace to shop. I got to go on a Ferris wheel 🎡 which was super fun. We got to go around 3 times per ticket. (There was also a carousel 🎠 but I didn’t go on that one.) That night after dinner, we went to a wine house. I got to meet new people from our ship. The adults got to taste wine, while the kids got to taste different juices. The bread 🥖 was great!!

ºoº Sixth day in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹 ºoº
In Vienna, we went ice skating ⛸️ and it was really fun! It was not like a typical ice skating rink, but it was like an ice skating path with a rink inside it. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! I could skate there for hours...and, in fact, I did. That afternoon we decorated gingerbread on the ship. We got to submit them and find out who made the best one but I kind of ate my submission 😳. It was still fun. That night the junior adventurers had a special pizza party where we got pizza and got to hang out with the adventure guides!! Later that night we got to do a gift exchange with the whole ship it was so fun I got a rubber German duck !!! 🎁

ºoº Seventh day in Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺 ºoº
In Budapest we went to the Lazar Equestrian park instead of the walking food tour. On our way to the park the local guide told us about the history of Budapest. When we got there we got to go see an amazing horse show, a film about the brothers who own the park, if you volunteer you can help make the goulash and they do have vegetarian goulash, and we got to see horses 🐎 and different animals🐑 🐓🐕🐇🐐. After that we got to have lunch it was so much food and the goulash was amazing to that it felt like we were on a walking food tour minus the walking part. At lunch they had this amazing raspberry juice🥤 it was SO GOOD. I went and played at a tiny park for 5 minutes. This excursion was great I highly recommend.
